Wedding at the Lady Gregory Hotel & Lough Curta Castle | by Gerard Conneely Photography
Wedding Photographer Galway | With a Modern & Story Telling Style | Niamh & Brians Wedding
This wedding was something special, from the very start when I met Brian & Niamh, they were so relaxed & it followed through to their wedding. It rained heavily every day the week of their wedding but stopped just for their day which really was a stroke of luck as we really wanted to make the most out of the opportunity to shoot the creative images at Lough Cutra Castle. I took a second shooter with me for the full day, this essentially doubles the amount of final images for delivery and captures more candid moments than a single photographer can. The highlight of the day for us was the quick witted humour of the bridal party, never have I laughed so much while photographing a wedding. Niamh & Brian got married in Kiltaran church which was bustling with flowers & lanterns and looked fantastic. We opted to take the family formal photos at the brides parents' home and followed on to the scenic Lough Cutra Castle. The Bride & Groom arrived back to The Lady Gregory hotel to continue the celebrations & the staff & service there was second to none. Below are some highlight images from the day, as always I like to provide the wedding couple with about 30 samples images as soon as I can after the wedding.
This was a typical wedding day photography schedule, early arrival at the bride's home for a 9:15am start to gather & photography the wedding dress & details. We started the day a little earlier so we could take a hour out of the mornings schedule to travel to the grooms house to capture the groomsmen getting ready. Have two photographers take photos at the grooms home meant we could capture the preparations in full & return to the brides house to continue her mornings preparations. We wrapped up the shooting at 11pm which was a about 7-8 dances in. In total about 2,500 photos were taken, upon editing and sizing down, the bride & groom can expect a final delivery of about 1000 individually edited images. As always, a wedding album is recommended as it helps to tell the story of the day in sequence as well as to ensure to preserve the memories for generations to come.
